ICC offering two evening courses at Brimfield High School in the Fall
llinois Central College will offer two college courses during the fall semester at Brimfield High School. Part of its “Go West!” academic program, ICC is offering English 110 – Composition I on Monday evenings and Psychology 110 – Introduction to Psychology on Tuesday evenings. Both of the classes are three-credit hour courses that are eligible to transfer to other colleges and universities. Tuition for each course if $345 for those who qualify for in-district rates. Classes begin the week of August 19.
English 110 (ENGL 110)
Composition I – meets Mondays, 6 – 8:45 pm, August 19 through December 2, plus a final exam time. The class does not meet on Labor Day. The course provides basic instruction in college level writing.
Psychology 110 (PSY 110)
Introduction to Psychology – meets Tuesdays, 6 – 8:45 pm, August 20 through December 3, plus a final exam time. The course covers the fundamentals of psychology, the role of research, and the scientific method.
In order to register for either of the classes, students must complete an ICC application (www.icc.edu). Both courses require students to score an 81 on the ICC COMPASS Placement test or an ACT reading score of 18.
